Cathy Bruce:  

I am a Registered Nurse and graduated from Franciscan Hospital School of Nursing in Rock Island, Illinois in 1975. I received my Bachelors Degree in Nursing from Western Connecticut State University in Danbury, Ct. and also did graduate work there. I have been Assistant Director of Nursing, Director of Nursing and Director of Critical Care in various hospitals. My specialty is critical care. I currently am "semi-retired" and only work a couple of days a week at Baxter Regional Medical Center in Mountain Home, Ar. My very first job, at the age of 15, was at the Waynesville Memorial Hospital, where I got paid next to nothing. It is still my favorite job and I knew if I could do that I would make it as a nurse. The old family Docs there taught me a lot, and I remember them with great fondness. I am married and my husband, Dave, is retired from General Motors. We moved to Oakland, where my Grandmother and Dad were born, in 2002. I have two sons; James Michael "Jim" Conver age 33 in Nevada and Samuel Scott "Scott" Conver age 30 in California.
